1. Determination of the capacity and temperature of the cold storage
To meet the storage and shipment of various products with different temperature requirements, the size of the cold storage should be designed according to the maximum amount of products to be stored all year round. This capacity is calculated based on the volume that the stored products must occupy when stacking in the cold storage, plus the aisles between rows, the space between the walls and the ceiling, and the gaps between the packages. After determining the capacity, determine the length and height of the cold storage. In general, the necessary ancillary buildings and facilities, such as workshops, packaging and sorting rooms, tool warehouses, and loading and unloading platforms, should also be considered during the installation and design of cold storage, so that the quality of the cold storage can be guaranteed.
2. Selection and design of thermal insulation materials
The selection of thermal insulation materials for cold storage must be adapted to local conditions, and must have good thermal insulation performance and be economical and practical. There are several types of thermal insulation materials. One is processed into plates with fixed shapes and specifications, with fixed lengths, widths and thicknesses. Plates of corresponding specifications can be selected according to the needs of cold storage installation. High and medium temperature cold storage generally use 10 cm thick plates, and low temperature cold storage and frozen cold storage generally use 12 cm or 15 cm thick plates; the other can be sprayed with polyurethane foam, and the material can be sprayed directly into the built brick or concrete warehouse. After the shape is fixed, it is both moisture-proof and heat-insulating. Insulation material plates include polyurethane, polystyrene, etc. Polyurethane does not absorb water and has good heat insulation, but the cost is high; polystyrene has strong water absorption and poor heat insulation, but the cost is low. Generally, the structure of cold storage installation is developing towards assembly, and the body components including moisture-proof layer and heat insulation layer are made, so as to achieve on-site assembly. Its advantages are convenient and fast construction, and it can be moved, but the cost is relatively high.
How to consider the number of layers and height of cold storage when building it
Cold storage investment is mainly for business purposes, so the choice of cold storage construction site is very important. Generally, it is selected in a location with a favorable geographical location and developed transportation. The price is generally higher, so the cold storage design generally adopts a multi-layer design. However, we also need to consider the investment cost of the cold storage and the convenience of cold storage management in the future. It is recommended that the multi-layer cold storage should be 3 to 4 layers, and the total height should not exceed 20 meters.
In the design of traditional cold storage, the height of each layer is generally about 5m. However, in the actual operation process, the utilization rate of cold storage at this height is very low, because it is generally difficult to stack the goods when they are stacked to two or three meters, and the quality of the goods is constantly declining due to pressure, and the safety is also threatened, especially for items whose outer packaging is easily deformed, and the packaging often breaks, the items are tilted, and even cracked. In addition, commercial cold storage often has a wide variety of goods, a small number of the same variety, a low stacking height, and a large area, which brings many inconveniences to the operation and management of the cold storage. In order to improve the utilization rate of cold storage and ensure the quality and safety of goods, the actual operation often adopts the method of adding a shelf layer in the middle of each layer. However, this will increase the second investment and the operating space is very small.
